Catfish 11zon

African Sharp tooth Catfish
Clarias Gariepinus

The African sharp tooth catfish is a large, eel-like fish, usually of dark grey or black coloration on the back, fading to a white belly. In Africa, this catfish has been reported as being second in size only to the vundu of the Zambesian waters, although FishBase suggests the African sharp tooth catfish surpasses that species in both maximum length and weight.
C. gariepinus has an average adult length of 1–1.5 m (3 ft 3 in – 4 ft 11 in). It reaches a maximum length of 1.7 m (5 ft 7 in) and can weigh up to 60 kg (130 lb).
These fish have slender bodies, flat bony heads, notably flatter than in the genus Silurus, and broad, terminal mouths with four pairs of barbels.
They also have large accessory breathing organs composed of modified gill arches. Also, only the pectoral fins have spines.
Tilapia Live 11zon

Tilapia
Oreochromis Mossambicus

Tilapia is the second most farmed freshwater fish species in the world. Originating from tropical Africa and the Near East, tilapia is an omnivorous fish (eats both plant and animal matter) that can sustain wide environmental conditions.
They can be commercially cultivated in a wide variety of warm water systems (20 - 30℃), but do best in ponds with abundant natural food.
Some 95% of worldwide tilapia production uses improved strains of Oreochromis niloticus, the Nile tilapia. This species has superseded the formerly used O. mossambicus (Mozambique tilapia) which suffers the disadvantages of early maturity, slow growth and poor body shape, giving low fillet yields. Disease resistant, deep-bodied and fast-growing strains of Nile tilapia are now the commercial standard, in both red and silver colour. (’Deep bodied’ means that the body is deep in profile, as opposed to one with a shallow body form, an excessively large head and no ‘meat’ like O. mossambicus.) Nile tilapia can grow from a 1 g fingerling to 500 g mass (market mass) in 8 - 9 months compared to up to 14 months for other tilapia species.

Feeds - Live

Feeds AvailableFeed Benefits
DuckweedDuckweed’s nutrition profile makes it an ideal aquacultural food source for various species of fish and aquatic life. This highly digestible plant contains nearly 40% protein, 25% fibre, and 5% fat. Its protein content is similar to animal meat, making it a great source of protein for fish. It also contains potassium, sodium, phosphorus, calcium, and zinc. Most small fish generally love devouring duckweed. Mosquito fish, Tilapia, Grass Carp, Goldfish, Cichlids, and Koi fish especially like duckweed and benefit from its high protein content.
DaphniaDaphnia is an excellent, live, nutrient-rich food source for fish. Daphnia provide small amounts of vitamins B and C, protein, carbohydrates (sugars and starches) and fats in proportionally balanced quantities. They are especially useful for conditioning fish before breeding and for feeding fry and juvenile fish, as they stimulate a strong feeding response and promote healthy growth.
Daphnia being a live food source encourages fish to exhibit their natural hunting instincts, providing mental stimulation and promoting overall well-being.

A variety of additional live food is available on request. Contact us for more information.

Ovaprim

Ovaprim is now the first legally marketed US FDA Indexed injection product for use with ornamental finfish broodstock (MIF 900-001).

Please review all safety and handling information before using this product.

Ovaprim is a potent ovulating/spermiating agent used to promote and facilitate reproduction of many species of fish.  Ovaprim is a stable solution that contains OvaRH and a dopamine inhibitor.  Ovaprim utilizes the fish’s own endocrine system to safely induce maturation and coordinate spawning dates.  When used in the normal spawning cycle, Ovaprim can synchronize and coordinate maturation in treated fish by inducing maturation without affecting viability or fecundity, resulting in highly predictable ovulation, with high egg fertility and viability.
